Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge

Arnhemland is the largest Aboriginal land reserve in Australia. In a class of its own, the multi-award-winning Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge is situated near the community of Maningrida, approximately 300 km north-east of Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory. In a joint venture with the Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation, Alex Julius, one of Australia’s best known fishing identities, has created a lodge that offers an amazing remote area experience. It is the only operation in this region, where entry is restricted to people holding permits issued by the Aboriginal traditional land owners.

The comfortable lodge is situated on an escarpment fringe overlooking the Liverpool and Tomkinson River Valleys.

Deluxe en-suite cabins offer a taste of luxury in an otherwise remote and unspoiled environment. The main lodge includes an extensive dining and lounge area, and shaded deck with our "Barramundi Bar" overlooking the spectacular Tomkinson River Valley.

Our professionally-guided Darwin fishing tours provide exclusive fishing access to six major river systems as well as fantastic bluewater areas where anglers can experience the best barramundi and bluewater fishing Australia has to offer.

So no matter what activity you are interested in, The Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge can organise a corporate package to suit your needs.

The fishing: This remote and scenic area offers outstanding barramundi and sportfishing safaris from March to December.

You will have exclusive access to six pristine Arnhemland rivers, several coastal creeks and estuaries, fish-rich tropical islands and magnificent inland lagoons. You will primarily target the famous barramundi but you will most likely encounter a number of other saltwater species such as threadfin and blue salmon, mangrove jack, black jewfish, golden snapper, coral trout, queenfish, Spanish mackerel, broad-barred mackerel, long tail tuna, giant trevally, golden trevally, cobia, and that icon sportfish the giant herring. There are also opportunities for freshwater lagoon fishing for barramundi, tarpon and saratoga.

The remote and extensive waterways in this Arnhemland region have a well earned reputation for offering some of the best barramundi fishing in the world.

The bottom line: As a corporate travel destination, the Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge offers many benefits. No wonder it’s the destination of choice for corporate groups looking for a unique, remote area experience:

• Remote and unique location in the heart of Arnhemland
• Available for exclusive hire
• Excellent range of Darwin fishing, nature and culture tours
• Barramundi and bluewater fishing in a
sportfishing paradise
• Presentation facilities available by prior arrangement
• Top quality accommodation and food
• Boost company morale
• Reward key staff, suppliers or clients

Aboriginal Culture Tours: The Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge is able to offer fascinating Aboriginal culture tours. You will experience traditional Aboriginal knowledge in action as local people guide you through a range of environments and activities and teach you about how people survived in this region until the mid 20th century. We hope that each guest leaves with a solid understanding of the local indigenous culture and an insight into how it relates to modern Australian culture.
